How to see a Doctor

docsteth1We use a full appointment system. We operate to ensure 48-hour access to a health professional. If you request an appointment with the doctor of your choice you may have to wait longer than this.

  • Try to arrive on time for your appointment.
  • Remember one appointment is for one person.
  • Cancel your appointment as soon as possible if you don’t need it.

Bear in mind some problems take longer than others and be patient if you have to wait (one day your problem might be the long one)

If you need to speak to a doctor, the practice currently operates a system whereby patients are welcome to telephone:

Monday-Friday 11.30am - 12.30 noon. Or 3.00pm –3.30pm.

If the doctor is not available during the appointed times the patient may leave a contact number and the doctor will return the call at the nearest possible time.

If a patient rings outside of these times he/she may be asked to ring back during the above appointed times. If this is not possible the patient may leave a number for the doctor to make contact at an appropriate time.

In an emergency the Receptionist will take details. Assurance will be given to the patient that it will be attended to immediately. The duty doctor will be contacted immediately and appropriate action will be taken.

For Emergencies on a Thursday afternoon, please ring 075631 89768. Your details will be taken and passed to the duty doctor this service operates from 1pm to 5.30pm and is for medical emergencies only. After 5.30pm please contact Dalriada Urgent Care on 028 25 66 35 00

MEDICAL STUDENTS (Doctors & Nurses)

The practice provides training for medical and nursing students. They can be attached to the practice from 3 - 6 weeks. All students are bound by a code of confidentiality and with your approval medical personnel will sit in during consultations with the doctor.
